Nathan's Blog Period 1

Based on what we have learned throughout this class there are a lot of aspects of film that interest me as well. Very recently I started filming videos when I go onto trips to document the things I see and what people are doing. It is very fun to me, which is why I think I would enjoy doing the film project. It also could be very beneficial to help me learn how to make film because it could benefit me during school projects. It does seem like it would be very hard though because there are a lot of factors to consider. You have to get good angles and good shots, and it takes a very long time to edit. Editing the film seem like it would probably be the second hardest part because it takes a lot of time as well as precise skills in order to make it look professional. The hardest part for sure would be getting good actors. I feel as if many kids I know from school wouldn't take the parts seriously because its a low budget film, and they wouldn't get paid.

Based on my experiences so far throughout this class, there are many things about print journalism that interest me. One thing that interests me is the aspect of taking pictures for the magazine. Throughout the last two years, I started doing photography as a hobby. Now it is a big passion of mine, that I put lots of effort into in order to one day become a professional photographer. It has always been an idea to me to make a magazine of my work, so this project could benefit me by showing me the ways I could make one for myself. The hard part about this would be the amount of shots as well as finding advertisements for that section. The reason the amount of shots could be hard is because I use old film cameras to take my pictures, so it would cost a lot of money for me to take a lot of pictures like you need before you start narrowing them down. It also seems like it would be hard to find advertisements because most companies wouldn't invest in a school project.
