Project Selection - Film

Based on what we have learned throughout this class there are a lot of aspects of film that interest me as well. Very recently I started filming videos when I go onto trips to document the things I see and what people are doing. It is very fun to me, which is why I think I would enjoy doing the film project. It also could be very beneficial to help me learn how to make film because it could benefit me during school projects. It does seem like it would be very hard though because there are a lot of factors to consider. You have to get good angles and good shots, and it takes a very long time to edit. Editing the film seem like it would probably be the second hardest part because it takes a lot of time as well as precise skills in order to make it look professional. The hardest part for sure would be getting good actors. I feel as if many kids I know from school wouldn't take the parts seriously because its a low budget film, and they wouldn't get paid.

This magazine, Teen People, is another magazine that would feature a similar target audience to my own magazine. This magazine features that similar to People Magazine, but is targeted more towards teens. This magazine has many different themes usually featuring a variety of lifestyle ideas and celebrities. This magazine, Teen Vogue, has a very similar target audience to mine. This is due to the fact that both are fashion magazines. Not only this, but they also are both aimed more towards teens rather than kids or adults. This is due to the new fashion trends and styles that are shown off inside the magazine. The way that Teen Vogue made themselves successful is by having lots of diversity, marketing, and being flexible. They used and supported the LGBTQ community throughout there magazine which showed there diversity and equality towards a variety of differences. They have a very large social media following because they are always up to date on trends and feature the hottest new teens in order to keep the audience interested. They also are very flexible in the sense of listening to their reviews. Distribution Research

The traditional distribution model for a magazine has to follow the three party equation. You need the producers, the wholesaler, and the retailer. The model shows how these three different parties need to work together in order to distribute the magazine to the best ability. The producer is the person who makes the products (magazine in my case). The wholesaler is the person who gets the product from the factory and will distribute them to different stores in order to sell the product. The retailer is the salespersons who work at the stores in which the products are sold. If any one of these people mess up the process, it messes up everything. On the other hand, their can be modifications done correctly that will let this work such as the producer selling directly to the retailers.
