Dapper Dan

Dapper Dan is another men's fashion magazine, but is much different than the average magazine. It aims towards giving inspiration to the audience on fashion and how to do things differently than normal. The cover of this magazine is a lot different than the other magazines I researched. It features very little text and is entirely in black and white. This is a much different approach then most magazines because normally they are very exciting in order to attract lots of readers, but this magazine takes a more simple approach. This might almost attract people more because of it being much more simple than others. This magazine features many different articles and pictures of both Dapper Dan projects as well as individuals that associate with these projects. These magazines are more like a photo book rather than a magazine, which is why they don't feature any ads in them. These magazine only comes out twice a year, and the magazine itself doesn't have any particular awards, but Dapper Dan himself has many which helps to bring in audiences.

This magazine, Teen People, is another magazine that would feature a similar target audience to my own magazine. This magazine features that similar to People Magazine, but is targeted more towards teens. This magazine has many different themes usually featuring a variety of lifestyle ideas and celebrities. This magazine, Teen Vogue, has a very similar target audience to mine. This is due to the fact that both are fashion magazines. Not only this, but they also are both aimed more towards teens rather than kids or adults. This is due to the new fashion trends and styles that are shown off inside the magazine. The way that Teen Vogue made themselves successful is by having lots of diversity, marketing, and being flexible. They used and supported the LGBTQ community throughout there magazine which showed there diversity and equality towards a variety of differences. They have a very large social media following because they are always up to date on trends and feature the hottest new teens in order to keep the audience interested. They also are very flexible in the sense of listening to their reviews. Distribution Research

The traditional distribution model for a magazine has to follow the three party equation. You need the producers, the wholesaler, and the retailer. The model shows how these three different parties need to work together in order to distribute the magazine to the best ability. The producer is the person who makes the products (magazine in my case). The wholesaler is the person who gets the product from the factory and will distribute them to different stores in order to sell the product. The retailer is the salespersons who work at the stores in which the products are sold. If any one of these people mess up the process, it messes up everything. On the other hand, their can be modifications done correctly that will let this work such as the producer selling directly to the retailers.
